Special Edition Messengers will be published every two weeks. Following the first special edition and thereafter, the Vestry and Transition Team will host an in-person coffee hour between the services where we can elaborate on the news and answer questions. A Zoom link will be sent to the congregation for those who wish to join online. Questions can be asked in the chat of the Zoom call.
These Special Edition Messengers and coffee hour forums will describe the work that was done so that the interview process for finding our new rector reflected the desires of the St. Mary’s congregation. We will look at the challenges identified through our congregational assessment and small group discussions, the vision we created for St. Mary’s based on those discussions, and how that led to identifying the skill set we wanted in our next rector.
For the last two years, the Vestry and the Transition Team have used those requirements and their origins as the basis for deciding who should be our new rector. However, we recognize that for most of the Congregation, it’s been a long time since you’ve been involved in that work. It’s our responsibility now to reacquaint the parish with that process and the rector profile we developed from it.
